style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp;</span>Wei has performed in solo recitals
throughout the <st1:country-region w:st=3D"on">United States</st1:country-r=
egion>,
<st1:country-region w:st=3D"on">Canada</st1:country-region> and <st1:place =
w:st=3D"on">Europe</st1:place>.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>She played at Carnegie Hall multip=
le
times as the principal violist of the New York String Orchestra. Sharon Wei
excelled in <st1:country-region w:st=3D"on">Canada</st1:country-region> at =
the <st1:place
w:st=3D"on"><st1:PlaceType w:st=3D"on">University</st1:PlaceType> of <st1:P=
laceName
 w:st=3D"on">Western Ontario</st1:PlaceName></st1:place>. <span

prestigious Curtis Institute of Music with Roberto Diaz and Karen Tuttle, a=

 w:st=3D"on">University</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> under Jesse Levine.<span

Director and Conductor Xun Sun <span class=3DGramE>leads</span> the
Orchestra.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Sun serves as the
Director of Orchestral Activities at SUU. This fall he guest conducted a
program of American music in the <st1:country-region w:st=3D"on"><st1:place
 w:st=3D"on">Ukraine</st1:place></st1:country-region>.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>In 2003, Sun became the Music Dire=
ctor
and Conductor of OSU. He is also currently the principal guest conductor of=
 the
Hunan Symphony Orchestra, <st1:country-region w:st=3D"on"><st1:place w:st=
=3D"on">China</st1:place></st1:country-region>.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp;&nbsp; </span>As a violinist Sun has given
numerous solo recitals throughout the <st1:country-region w:st=3D"on">United
 States</st1:country-region> and <st1:country-region w:st=3D"on"><st1:place
 w:st=3D"on">China</st1:place></st1:country-region>.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Sun was born in <st1:place w:st=3D=
"on"><st1:City
 w:st=3D"on">City of Taiyuan</st1:City>, <st1:country-region w:st=3D"on">Ch=
ina</st1:country-region></st1:place>.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>His talent became evident at an ea=
rly
age and began his formal music training and violin studies at Wuhan
Conservatory of Music at age eleven.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp;

<p class=3DMsoNormal><span style=3D'mso-tab-count:1'>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbs=
p;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </span>Wei
and OSU will perform &#8220;Concerto in G Major for Viola&#8221; by G. Ph.
Telemann, and Yizkor by Oedoen Partos.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp;&nbsp; </span>The symphony orchestra also
presents the &#8220;New World Symphony&#8221; by Dvorak.</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><span style=3D'mso-tab-count:1'>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbs=
p;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </span>&#8220;Concerto
in G Major for Viola&#8221; is the first known concerto for viola.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>It was written during the Renaissa=
nce in
the Baroque style; this style is still well-recognized today.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Wei will be featured in the perfor=
mance
of this piece.</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><span style=3D'mso-tab-count:1'>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbs=
p;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </span>Wei
will also join the Orchestra of Southern Utah in &#8220;Yizkor&#8221;.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>This vivid piece invokes memories =
of
loved ones departed and was written as a tribute to the millions of individ=
uals
who died during World War II.</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><span style=3D'mso-tab-count:1'>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbs=
p;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </span><span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp;</span>&#8220;New World Symphony&#8221;, a=
lso
known as &#8220;Symphony No. 9&#8221;, was based on Native American music a=
nd
African-American spirituals.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>=
Its
second movement inspired the spiritual-like song &#8220;Going Home.&#8221;<=

style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>The November 2<sup>nd</sup> perfor=
mance
of &#8220;New World Symphony&#8221; will feature OSU member Virginia Stitt =
on
English <span class=3DGramE>Horn</span>.</p>

and broadcast worldwide. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for <span class=3DG=
