will open their 2008-2009 concert season with their Twelfth Annual Fall Rec=

evening performances is designed to give area musicians the opportunity to
perform for audiences in a more personal setting, as well as providing
audiences world-wide the opportunity to hear the performances, as the recit=

style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Local audiences enjoy the series <=

class=3DGramE>because</span> the more relaxed atmosphere allows for more

eries
begins Tuesday September 2<sup>nd</sup> at 7:30 pm with Basically Baroque.<=

style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>The recitals will take place every
Tuesday evening through October 7<sup>th</sup>.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Every recital in the series will h=
ave a
different theme and explore a different area of music. <span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp;</span>The recital on September 9<sup>th</=
sup>,
American Popular, will focus on American music from 1970 to 1990. <span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp;</span>Making Music Together will feature
ensembles of three or more and take place on September 16<sup>th</sup>.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Pieces from the Classic to Romanti=
c Era
will be presented on September 23<sup>rd</sup>.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>The recital on September 30<sup>th=

Western Favorites, will highlight the music of the southwestern <st1:countr=
y-region
w:st=3D"on"><st1:place w:st=3D"on">United States</st1:place></st1:country-r=
egion>
plus the beautiful &#8220;Lark Ascending&#8221; by Vaughn Williams.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>The 12<sup>th</sup> Annual Recital
Series will conclude on October 7<sup>th</sup>, with an evening simply titl=
ed
Anything Goes.</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal style=3D'text-indent:.5in'>Recitals will take place at=
 St.
Jude&#8217;s Episcopal Church, located at 70 North 200 West in Cedar City.
&#8220;This beautiful edifice is an acoustical gem,&#8221; stated Recital
Director Sara Penny. &#8220;The inverted ark design lends itself beautifull=
y to
small ensembles and voices.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp;
</span>&#8220;We appreciate St. Jude&#8217;s Episcopal Church for sharing t=
heir

suggested donation for each recital is $8 for adults and $4 for students.<s=

 w:st=3D"on">Anderson</st1:place></st1:City>, born in 1908 to Swedish immig=
rants,

EN'>A new piece composed by SUU Music Department Chair Keith Bradshaw will =

No. 4&#8221; was Bruckner&#8217;s first great success as a composer.<span

style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Every year, OSU forms a special
Handel&#8217;s Messiah Choir for the December concert.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>This choir, and its soloists, is f=
rom
the <st1:place w:st=3D"on"><st1:PlaceName w:st=3D"on">Cedar</st1:PlaceName>=
 <st1:PlaceType
 w:st=3D"on">City</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> area, making this concert a t=
ruly
local Christmas tradition.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Lo=

vocalists are invited to sing in the choir without audition and solo auditi=
ons

Children&#8217;s Jubilee (formerly known as the Children&#8217;s Carnival) =

be held on Saturday, February 14<sup>th</sup> at 2:00 pm.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>This special concert welcomes fami=
lies
with children of all ages to come enjoy an afternoon with OSU.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>The Jubilee Musical will have musi=
cal
exhibits, artists, cultural exhibits, and educational activities designed to
teach children the joy of music.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </s=
pan>A
short Rhythm matinee concert is also scheduled for the Jubilee. </p>

&nbsp;Roulet is an active percussion performer.<span

eattle
Symphony, Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra, Boston Civic Orchestra, and t=
he
American <span class=3DSpellE>Sinfonietta</span> among other orchestras.</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><span style=3D'mso-tab-count:1'>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbs=
p;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </span>Stitt
currently teaches at SUU.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>She=
 has
taught students at all stages of their academic careers, from elementary sc=
hool
through college, and has worked in music education across the <st1:country-=
region
w:st=3D"on">United States</st1:country-region> and <st1:country-region w:st=
=3D"on"><st1:place
 w:st=3D"on">Canada</st1:place></st1:country-region>. <span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp;</span>Stitt has performed in <st1:country=
-region
w:st=3D"on">Japan</st1:country-region>, <st1:country-region w:st=3D"on"><st=
1:place
 w:st=3D"on">Canada</st1:place></st1:country-region>, and across the Unites=
 States.
She currently performs with the Southwest Symphony and the Orchestra of
Southern Utah as well as in local chamber music groups and musical producti=
ons.</p>

season is held in memory of Roy L. Halversen, a beloved local musician and

concert spotlights the talents of four young musicians from <st1:place w:st=

 Utah</st1:place>. Audio auditions are accepted until Dec. 12 with a live
