Wishing You a Happy Holiday Season

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Orchestra of Southern Utah.  We at the Orchestra of Southern Utah have so much to be grateful for this season, including you.  Thank you for supporting the music we love to play and attending our concerts.  We applaud you.

Our most recent concert, Messiah, was a huge success.  We would like to thank the musicians, chorale members, and their families for donating their time to bring this Christmas tradition to Cedar City.  We love having the opportunity to bring the community together to celebrate this wonderful time of year.  A special thanks goes to State Bank of Southern Utah and the Leavitt Group for sponsoring the Messiah Concert so the Orchestra is able to present the concert free of charge.

The Messiah Concert Food Drive collected 367 pounds of food for the Iron County Care and Share.  Thank you to all the patrons who donated food.

Our Orchestra Christmas Drawing also went well.  Congratulations to the drawing winner, Clarke Lium, and thank you to all who entered.  Proceeds from the drawing will help bring Orchestra of Southern Utah musical performances to the Heritage Center in the future.

Thank you for supporting the Orchestra of Southern Utah.  Because of your attendance and financial support, our season is already a memorable one.  We have celebrated musical theater with over 300 musicians and chorale members on stage featured high school groups from Parowan, Canyon View, and Cedar High.  In November we were thrilled to present the much-requested Pines of Rome and to host Chinese composer Zhou Hong and his original work.  We were delighted to be able to continue the tradition of the annual Messiah concerts.  We are excited to bring you the remainder of our season: our Children’s Jubilee in February with outreach assemblies reaching 3,500 students, a performance with featured guest soloist Dr. Kirill Gliadkovsky, and our successful youth concerto series in the spring.

Please remember, your gifts make it all possible.  The Orchestra of Southern Utah is a non-profit organization that thrives due to outstanding community and individual supporters.  Please know that we appreciate your assistance and any suggestions you have to make OSU the best it can be.  Your gifts are, quite literally, our life blood.  We coud not bring the music you love to hear without you.  Thank you for your financial support.
