Adrianne J. Tawa received her degrees in Music Education, Vocal Performance, and Theatre Arts, from SUU.  She studied advanced conducting with Dr. Bart Shanklin and voice with Carol Ann Modesitt.  Prior to her education at SUU, she spent three years studying music at Brigham Young University - Hawaii, studying voice from both Lou-Ann Crisler, and Gergory Tata.  She was a member of the elite performing group "Showcase Hawaii" and traveled throughout Polynesia performing extensively.

Mrs. Tawa has been employed as the choir director at Canyon View High School since certifying to teach music in 2001.  Under her leadership the choir program has grown from two choirs with 56 students enrolled to five choirs with more than 200 students enrolled.  CVHS choirs have distinguished themselves as superior choirs, consistently receiving high marks at region and state festivals.  Her church and community music experience includes Chancel Choir Director for the Community Presbyterian Church, 2000-2005, pianist for St. Jude's Episcopal Church, and the Choral Master for the Orchestra of Southern Utah, preparing the Messiah Chorus.

Mrs. Tawa was named Utah's High School Music Educator of the year in 2008 and Utah's All-State Women's Honor Choir Director for 2010.  She was named Teacher of the Year for Iron County in 2011. She is an active member of the American Choral Directors Association, Utah Music Education Association and a member of the State Choral Committee.

Adrianne is the proud mother of Julia.
